VAN BUREN, Ark. (AP) — Two Van Buren High School students who were severely burned during a bonfire are doing better.

A spokeswoman at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock says 18-year-olds Cole Plunkett and Austin Gann were in good condition.

Both were flown to the Children's Hospital's burn unit after initially being driven by a family member to a local hospital on Thursday. Butterfield Church administrative pastor Jason Gilmore says the teens suffered second- and third-degree burns to their hands, arms and faces at the bonfire, which was held at a private residence.

Gilmore told the Southwest Times Record it will be several days before they know if any skin graft surgery is necessary.

Donations are being accepted for both teens at Citizen's Bank in Van Buren.
