LITTLE ROCK, AR – Police arrested a second suspect Monday in the 2010
home invasion and shooting that killed 38-year-old Calvin Watson.
Police arrested Mario Harris, 29 of Little Rock, was arrested at his home Monday at 22 Ardmore Drive. Tuesday, Harris pleaded not guilty to capital murder. His next court date is September 17th.
According to the police report, two men kicked in the door of the home at 505 W. 31st Street just after midnight on November 10th in a robbery attempt. Watson struggled with one of the suspects, who shot him several times. Watson was found on the ground outside of the home on 421 W. 31st. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
According to Watson’s girlfriend at the time, the two of them had just moved into the home and were sleeping at the time of the attack. The police report says Watson had nearly $3,000 in the house, which the girlfriend took out of the house shortly after the invasion.
In June, 30-year-old
Montrell Burton was arrested in connection to Watson’s death. He is also charged with capital murder.
