LITTLE ROCK, AR – A routine early morning traffic stop on Cantrell Road in West Little Rock on Thursday yielded 3 arrests, the recovery of a stolen gun, and more than a half-pound of marijuana, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.
21-year-old Matthew Hackett was originally pulled over around 2:30am, operating a car with only one headlight. According to the report, the deputy who pulled him over immediately smelled pot coming from the car.
Hackett and his two passengers, 22-year-old Nicholas Wade and 20-year-old Zachary Wade, were searched. The report says that Nicholas Wade was carrying a handgun.
In the sheriff’s office report, a search of the car found another handgun inside a camouflage glove, later determined to be stolen out of Hot Springs. The search also turned up two large bags of suspected marijuana (282g or ~0.6lbs), 19 oxycodone pills, a morphine pill, a digital scale, numerous small clear plastic baggies, a digital scale, and “what appeared to be a marijuana cutting tool.”
All three are charged with possession of marijuana with purpose and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hackett was additionally charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Nicholas Wade was also charged with carrying a weapon and simultaneous possession of drugs. Zachary Wade was also charged with possession of controlled substance and obstruction of governmental operations.
