LITTLE ROCK, AR – A woman wanted for questioning after a body was found buried in her yard tried to commit suicide Friday, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

Joyce Rollf was captured by the Pope County Sheriff’s Office Friday afteroon after a short chase in Atkins. Rollf was taken into custody in the Liberty Bank of Arkansas where she was found with her wrists slit. She was taken to Saint Mary’s Regional in Russellville then flown to UAMS in Little Rock.

Rollf is a “person of interest” in the homicide of James Heath. Three others, William Null, 24, John Posey, 35, and Taylor Arnold, 20, have already been arrested in connection to Heath’s death and charged with first degree murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence.

Heath had been missing for a month before being found in Rollf’s backyard at 10306 Centennial Road in Cabot. Investigators were led to the address by Arnold, who a witness said was seen with Heath. According to the report, Taylor said that that he knew Heath’s body was buried there and he “helped put the body behind the house.”

Early in the afternoon Friday, someone in Pope County spotted Rollf’s car and called 911. A deputy in the area found the car and initiated a traffic stop. According to the Pope County Sheriff’s Office, after being stopped, both people in the car got out and ran. With the assistance of Atkins Police Chief Jim Wittenburg, both Rollf and Null were captured.

Friday night, Pulaski County announced the arrest of a third person. The sheriff’s office says Posey admitted to watching Rollf beat Heath to death with a baseball bat inside her home.

Rollf is currently under guard at UAMS and will face charges when she is released from the hospital.

The family of Heath says a visitation has been scheduled for Friday, Nov 2nd at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cabot.
