3 small earthquakes recorded in central Arkansas

QUITMAN, Ark. (AP) — The United States Geological Survey has recorded three small earthquakes near Quitman in central Arkansas.

No injuries or damage has been reported.

The USGS reports the strongest of the three was a magnitude 3.4 recorded at 4:38 a.m. about three miles southwest of Quitman. The area is about 45 miles north of Little Rock.

The survey reports that in the same area a 2.9 magnitude quake was recorded at 5:37 a.m. and a 2.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 3:16 a.m.
