6 sex offenders arrested

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Little Rock Police Department and the U.S. Marshals team up to take sex offenders off the streets.

"Operation Guardian Angel" is a program where law enforcement goes after sex offenders who haven't registered. Thursday, officers tracked down six.

Police made some unexpected arrests too. At one point in the day, U.S. Marshals and Little Rock Police knocked on Pamela Harris' door. She told them convicted sex offender Courtney Robinson didn't live there, and they couldn't search the house. Marshals then discovered Harris is wanted for passing hot checks and Robinson was in the bedroom. Both were arrested.

At another point in the day, Apartment Manager Helen Schaefer saw Marshals looking for someone in her apartment complex. With no answer at the door she said she'd handle it, telling an employee to knock the door knob off after her keys wouldn't work.

"If I've got that kind of people," said Schaefer, "I want the Marshals and the Little Rock Police Department there."

In this case the sex offenders weren't there -- something law enforcement learns to live with.

"We're gonna go to your house, we're gonna go to your family's house, your friends house," said U.S. Marshal Dave Loyer. "We are going to actively and aggressively pursue you."

Police made 11 arrests total Thursday including the six sex offenders.

This is the first time the Little Rock Police Department and U.S. Marshals have teamed up for a sex offender sweep. They say they plan to continue.
