JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — A printing company says it will close its plant in Jonesboro, leaving 600 people out of work.

Quad Graphics made the announcement Wednesday, saying it will consolidate work into other locations around the country. The company has more than 40 plants in the United States and Canada.

Company CEO Joel Quadracci says workers in Jonesboro will be offered positions if they're willing to relocate.

Mayor Harold Perrin tells the Jonesboro Sun that the printing company has been a fixture in Jonesboro for years. The company prints magazines, catalogs, retail inserts and circulars, as well as other publications.

The news is the second major job loss for Jonesboro in less than a month. StarTek announced in February that it's laying off all 223 workers at its call center.

But Obama said the economy is much better and things are looking so mucn brighter. So these people can relocate IF they can sell their houses in a sluggish real estate market and IF they can afford the costs of relocating.
