LITTLE ROCK, AR – A 7-year-old boy has died after a Monday afternoon shooting in Little Rock. and police say his 9-year-old sister is responsible.

According to reports, officials from the Little Rock Police Department received a call about a shooting around 4:35 pm on March 12. When police arrived on the scene at 1502 Green Mountain Drive, Apartment 104, they found the victim, 7-year-old Zeus Diviaio suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

Police say the boy’s mother and father were signing paperwork at the rental office, and returned to the apartment to find their son wounded. Diviaio’s 9-year-old sister, who has high functioning autism, was in the apartment when the shooting happened, and initially told police that two men entered the apartment and shot her brother. He was transported to Baptist Hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Police now believe the 9-year-old may have been responsible for the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.

The pain of loosing a loved one, especially a child of your own, in this case even more twisting are several facts that will make dealing with that pain & loss more heavy to bear. My thoughts & prayers go to this family, and every family that looses a child. May God find a way to ease your burdens. To other of us who feel it necessary to throw stones and place blame: I am sincere in my wishes that if the only way for them to understand what it is to loose a child, I hope they never have to learn that lesson. When you know nothing about the people, nor the loss they are suffering, your words can help, or hurt; choose them wisely. "..tis better to remain quite and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and prove it..." And to certain others I say this: Is posting comments on a website all your good for? You spout your opinion and speak of facts and laws. I say to you , pick up the fight, go out and DO MORE to stop this. If you choose not to, then your words, however poorly chosen, are meaningless.

So it comes down to lowlife parents leaving their kids alone. They should be held accountable, idiots. And realitycheck, if you do not like what I post, dont read them. Its sad that a 7 year old is dead, but whats also sad is that the parents could have prevented this. If you dont understand or like that comment, then maybe you are the moron.

It's times like these when people are in transition like checking into an apartment that chaos enters our lives. I sit here with my six year old at my feet and my 11 year old doing her home work at the table and I can't begin to imagine the pain of this family. Not just one life was altered but three. Ask not for whom the bell tolls..........

This is such a sad story. My heart bleeds for the parents over the loss of their little boy. Now is just not the time to ridicule or condemn the parents over the loss of their child. I'm sure an elaborate investigation by the proper authorities will determine what charges, if any, the parents will have to face.

I really wish that fox 16 would take diligaf off the site, because he is just ignorant. I am sure that he wouldn't make some of the rude remarks that he makes in public!!!! Pathetic piece of crap!!! I'm sure his family dislikes him. Hurt people hurt people.

Just sad, I hope the cops do some serious investigating on how the 9 yr old got the gun in the first place and hold the gun owner responsible. Only a complete fool, not fit to be in society would leave a loaded gun around an autistic 9 yr old and a 7 yr old.

The parents should have never left a 7 year old 9 year old alone in an apartment by themselves. Some mistakes you can't go back and fix them, I will pray for the parents this will haunt them forever, the what if's. So So sad.

My questions are: Why were the 7 & 9 yr old left alone in the apartment by themselves, especially when the 9 yr old has autism & where did they get the gun? Need answers to this one!!!
