ABC board denies beer permit for LR store

A new grocery store wanting to sell beer is told "no" by the state Alcohol Beverage Control board. The grocery store is set to open on the city's south side at 2501 Arch.

the alkies in that area will just have to get in their cars and drive a little farther for their beer/wine.

Wow. I just posted a comment on the other story concerning this one, and this story pops up. I guess someone didn't pay off the right people; as is usually the case in these situations. And I stand by my comments in the other part of this story. There indeed must be some very happy people out there today! With Booze you lose, with dope there's hope! Just an old ex pot head speaking his mind ya'll! ( I may have "borrowed" that from the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers ).
