ACH Receives Million Dollar Donation

Huge Gift is Personal

As the Arkansas Children's Hospital celebrates 60 years, a $1 million dollar gift is given to the burn unit in memory of Rachel Fuller.

The 14-year-old died from injuries suffered in the 1999 American Airlines crash in Little Rock.

It was a stormy June night when American Airlines flight 1420 made a crash landing in Little Rock.

11 people died, including 14-year-old Rachel.

She was an incredible young woman,” said her father Charlie Fuller.

Rachel spent two weeks in the burn unit.

Now her family gives the unit $1 million dollars to support and continue its great work.

"We just wanna make a difference, the burn unit was great to us and we wanna honor them," added Fuller.

Dr. John Bates President and CEO of ACH said the gift will help bring in the best for patients.

And continue upgrading the unit where patients receive therapy, state of the art rooms, and an in house anesthesiologist.

"We leave with this gift, great legacy," said Fuller.
