Coaches were not included because they couldn't be trusted to distinguish athletic injury from abuse. "If I have to report every time I see a bruise I'll be on the phone all day long."

what abuse are you going to require coaches to report...any coach is gonna report suspected sexual abuse...exept at penn state...is yelling abuse...coaches in little league are hard to find...just because of situations like this...its a fine line your walking here...your making blanket statements about a specific situation...are you going to have parents reporting "abuse" if the coaches make children run laps...are you going to have coaches report abuse if the parents yell at their kids...the "moral" responsibility of coaches is something that the "Dixie Mafia" should have no say in...if you suspect abuse by all means take action...leave the Government Thugs and Tax Collectors out of it

It is your moral responsibility to report suspected child abuse of any sort. If you have a conscience that should be enough for you to be a concerned citizen and report suspected CRIMINAL behaviour.
