AR Student Shows Designs at New York Fashion Week

A University of Arkansas student returns to Little Rock after showcasing designs created in Kenya at New York Fashion Week.

An Arkansas student returns to Little Rock Tuesday after showing her designs in the Big Apple.

Anna Taylor's clothing line, Judith & James, had its New York Fashion Week debut last week.

The 22-year-old's designs were brought to life in the slums of Africa. After living in Kenya with her entire family, Taylor lived in Nairobi alone for a year developing a sewing project for widows.

“It was such an exciting experience, not many Arkansas girls have shown there. It was a good experience for me and for all the women in the slums who made all the clothing here. It's amazing for them to see their clothing on New York’s runways,” says Taylor.

Now that Taylor is wrapping up her studies at the University of Arkansas, she's working on getting her clothes into local stores. Judith & James is already available at two Little Rock stores, including Tulips in the Heights.
