What if he was trying to reach his gun (maybe to hide it elsewhere or to shoot them once he was out of the car), but he accidentally shot himself instead since his hands were restricted.

I have a little wine everyday. Eat lot's of fresh fish. The last time I was at my heart doctor he said mine had improved as much as 15 percent. I had two before I was 32 years old none after. Valve problem.

I can understand why some people would have doubts about the police officer's account of what happened. It just seems very implausable that this kid could place a gun to the side of his head with his hands cuffed behind him. I would like to see the video that was not released and I would like to know whether there was gun shot residue on the kid's hands. I'll wait for all the information before I form an opinion.

This DA used to drink; quit in 97 though. Stick to water, tea, hot chocolate, and soda pop now. Butch is right; people that drink and look down their noses at people that use drugs are indeed hyprocrites.

All of you bring up the drugs. Pot, meth and others. What about the number one killing drug in America and probably the world. Go on and guzzle that alcohol thinking it isn't a drug. How many of you DA's don't drink. Alcohol is a drug. That makes a good majority of the people hypocrites.

To me it isnt a question of did the cops shoot him or not. Its a question of could they have prevented it by doing a proper search of him. And I bet that is what the lawsuit will be based on.

golfdude's post on this story relaying what the newspaper wrote pretty much explains everything. Witnesses that were friends of the young man even said they heard the noise while the cops were busy with them. This story will continue though; the parents or family will try and make some dough from his life of drug abuse. I've witnessed people on meth doing stupid things; add the other drugs; anti-aniety and pain killers, along with weed, no telling what that does to one's brain. The only problem I see is the LEO's should have done more than a pat down before putting him in the car the first time.
