LITTLE ROCK, AR – James Hogue, husband to Maumelle Alderman Jan Hogue, pleaded no contest to 2nd degree sexual assault in circuit court Thursday.

Proscecutors say Hogue sexually assaulted a young girl, who was between the ages of 3 and 4 when the assault occurred.

A judge sentenced Hogue to 5 years of probation, $5,000 fine, can not have minors in his house, can not contact the victim, must attend treatment for sex offenders, must submit to drug screens, and must register as a sex offender.

Hogue’s sex offender level will be assessed at a later date.

The prosecutor’s office says that Hogue only spent one day in jail in connection to the crime, the day he was arrested. The prosecutor’s office notes that the mother of the victim moved out of state and would not cooperate with the prosecution.

PROVEN FACT: Pedophiles can NOT be rehabilitated. Usually they have offended 100 times before they get caught. It does NOT matter how long you keep these creeps in prison as when they get out they go right back to it. He gets a slap on the wrist the victims get a slap in the face!!!

After cooling down and reading the story again I see that he didn't just get a "slap on the wrist" or walk away free... But still. He didn't do any jail time... And that still infuriates me.

And I didn't mean justice in a threatening way... I just wanted to make that clear.. I will contact my friend who is a lawyer and see what he thinks about this... And maybe someone's seat might get revoked for unlawful use of power... The stink of your foul ways disgusts me.

Wait a ____ minute... So just because the mother was not cooperating with the prosecution, that means a child molester gets to "basically walk free". Probation is a slap on the wrist. I am pretty sure, no I am almost positive that the fact that he is an Alderman's husband is the reason he got such a light sentence... This is a crying shame and honestly it makes me sick! As a mother of a child who has been a victim of sexual assault, and a victim of sexual assault myself, I just wish the judge, and all those involved would reevaluate the situation.... REGARDLESS is the child's mother is cooperating. This is a child we are talking about. A CHILD!!!! They need people to help them and be their voice when they are not heard. I don't know... I just don't know what to say other than I might just personally see that this child gets justice, whether she/he knows about it or not!!
