Alexander Man Faces String of Charges in Benton Arrest

Kenneth Hawkins, 42, was picked up Sunday after allegedly threatening a man with a knife.
BENTON, AR - An Alexander man is jailed in Benton on a string of charges.

The Benton Police Department says Kenneth Hawkins, 42, was picked up on Sunday night after officers responded to a report of criminal mischief and aggravated assault on Columbia Street.

When officers arrived, the victim said a man he caught cutting the convertible top on his car threatened him when he confronted the suspect.
The suspect, later identified as Hawkins was later apprehended by officers without further incident. Police soon after determined that Hawkins had also stolen a vehicle on Newcomb Street, which is where he was taken into custody. 

Police say Hawkins has been on the run since last month when felony warrants were issued for him after a string of property crimes.
In relation to this latest incident, Hawkins is charged with Residential Burglary, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Use of Another Person’s Property to Facilitate a Crime, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Aggravated Assault, and Obstruction of a Governmental Operation. 

Additionally, Hawkins was served with a parole revocation warrant and with a felony warrant for Residential Burglary, 12 counts of Theft of Property, 11 counts of Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons, and Criminal Mischief.
