American Legion Post 71 in Cabot Remembers the Lost and Missing

At a Memorial Day Ceremony, POW and MIA soldiers are remembered along with all of the men and women who have died in combat.

CABOT, AR- At Legion Post 71 in Cabot, Veterans gathered to honor their fellow service men and women, those here and those who never came home.

Retired Lieutenant Colonel Steve Gray is and Air Force Veteran who now works with Senator John Boozman.

He took part in a special ceremony to honor Prisoners of War and those that are still considered Missing in Action.

The veterans we spoke with say it is important for young people to remember the sacrifices of the soldiers.

According to Jim Sanders of American Legion Post 71, "because they(young people) weren't around even in Viet Nam, or even the Gulf War, to me it is very important.

They need to be reminded of just what we did as airmen and soldiers and marines."

Following a speech, there was a wreath laying ceremony near Post 71's Wall of Honor.
