BRYANT, AR – A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man suspected of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the City of Bryant.

Saline County Prosecuting Attorney Ken Casady says Bryant contacted with Global Telcom, headed by Christopher Barnes, to provide computer and telephone equipment to the city. Casady says Barnes and Telcom were paid $83,000 between Feb 2010 and Feb 2011, but the city only received $35,000 worth of equipment and services.

Casady says Barnes intentionally billed Bryant for equipment and services he knew he would not provide.

Barnes, formerly of Ft. Smith, is also wanted in Sebastian and Faulkner Counties for theft, and wanted in Pope County for nonsupport.
