Yes, I do like "ain't", use it a lot. According to wikipedia - ...widely used by many people, and found in most dictionary's, it's use is often considered to be informal, nonstandard, or improper. And I'm not spouting hate; just a theory based on figures; would like to go to my Maker without having to do anything like that; but if I had to protect what I have in the event of a meltdown, I would be more than capable; didn't say I'd enjoy it though. Regarding intelligence; I'll take an IQ test with you anytime, and we can use either Terman's classification or the Wechsler classification. And Heinlein's "Specialization is for insects"; I can do everything on there except conn a ship, and program a computer ( didn't take any programming classes getting my Network Administration degree at PTC ). How many can you do? 3.78 GPA in college, what was yours?

I was simply trying to explain to Tired the need for law enforcement. I did some research today; there were almost 3 million people in AR during the 2010 census. There were just under 15,000 violent crimes reported, and just under 104,000 property crimes. We may assume that the criminal element being what they are, some are responsible for more than one crime. Take out the ones that have gone to the pen, or are in jail now; adjust the figures accordingly; and say there are just over 100,000 thugs in a state of 3 million people. Those that are not criminals outnumber those that are by 2.9 million; like I said; the thugs NEED protection in the event society breaks down! I get the feeling that there are some that post that did not finish high school; either for lack of discipline, or lacking in the intelligence to finish school. I also get the feeling that some posters have been in prison. If you don't have respect for the law, and as some have shown, respect for others as far as dissing their opinions; then they more than likely don't even have respect for themselves. Not naming names or pointing fingers, just sayin'.

Dude; three quarters are white, but not all of them are Christians. Three quarters are Christians, but they are not all white; I know many black Christians, and the Hispanic community is predominately Catholic, which I consider Christian despite those that believe differntly. I did not say three quarters are white AND Christian, didn't even come close. Now, who is in the "little" world? Why so much hate Dude?

Came close to my 2K characters. Look at the Old West. There were those that lived a life of crime; most were hunted down by law abiding citizens and sent to the gallows; those that attempted to fight back, well, they usually ended up with lead poisoning. Why so down on the law Tired? I've never had a problem with AR LEO's; I've had one ticket, and it was my fault, for turning around at a tractor crossing between Sherwood and Jax. I'm not going to assume; but it does appear to most that those that have low esteem for the law, are usually criminals because of their past experiences at getting busted. I've worked with people like you; people that have no respect for LEO's; and it was always because they had spent some time behind bars; not the cops fault, it was theirs for committing crimes. I was pulled over in Tucson right after getting out of the Army; was smoking some green when I looked in the rear view mirror, and a motorcycle officer was on my bumper. I know he saw me smoking, the joint was in my mouth when I looked in the rear view. He had pulled me over for expired tags. Wrote me a warning and let me go. Had a Jax officer pull me over one night because my lights were not on. We had left a store, and I forgot to turn them on. He didn't even write me a warning. Saw my NRA sticker, asked if I had a CHCP, replied no ( although I have one now! ), we talked for a minute, and he let me go on my way. Were these two officers "bad" cops? The one could have busted me for weed, he didn't though. The other, well, he didn't generate any revenue for Jax by writing me a ticket, but he could have. I ride with current and former LEO's, and they are all good men, that deserve respect for what they do, and for having served Honorably in the Armed Forces, and for serving as LEO's; putting their lives on the line when they go to work, to keep those of us that are hard working and honest safe.

Tired; concerning "those people" that "need protection". Facts and figures; three quarters of the US are white; there are criminal elements of all races though, but I can assure you, most people of all races are good, honest, hard working folk. Three quarters of the US are Christians; again, there are those in our religions that are not good people, but for the most part, again, good, honest hard working people. ( These three quarters figures are plus or minus a few percentage points ) We read and watch the news, and most of what we see are the crimes; we don't often see the stories such as the teenagers that built the ramp for the disabled man; these kind of stories do not appeal to many; and the media likes to concentrate on the stories they can sensationalize. To sum it up, most Americans are good people; the criminal element is but a small sample of who, and what we really are as a country. Now let's say society breaks down; an astroid perhaps, global war with nukes, a virus that can't be stopped, such as Captain Trips. This break down in society would cause things to happen. The grocery stores in the cities would soon be empty; the clean water in the cities would soon stop flowing. The thugs that are both in the inner cities, and the scum out here in the country, such as the methbilly's; what on earth would they do? They have no skills, other than crime; they have inferior intelligence due to not finishing school; they have inferior discipline due to their upbringing; what are they going to do to survive? They are going to come out here into the smaller communities and out here in the country looking to steal food, rape, murder, and attempt to survive with their criminal skills. They will be mowed down like mad dogs when this happens. Without law and order, the criminals wouldn't have a chance at survival. These are "those people" that "need protection".
