JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel landed a small airplane he was piloting safely at the Jonesboro Municipal Airport after a malfunction light came on during the flight.
Aaron Sadler, a spokesman for McDaniel's office, says McDaniel notified authorities after a malfunctioning landing gear indicator light came on in the Beechcraft Baron 55 he was flying late Friday.
KAIT-TV reports police, firefighters and other emergency responders were on hand when McDaniel did a low-level pass to see if the landing gear was down. The indicator light turned out to be the only problem and McDaniel landed the plane without incident.
Sadler says McDaniel was returning from a chamber of commerce event in northwestern Arkansas when the problem arose.
He says McDaniel is from Craighead County and stayed in the area overnight.
