LITTLE ROCK, AR – University of Arkansas Chancellor David Gearhart was in town for Silas Hunt Legacy Awards banquet. While he would not speak specifically former head coach Bobby Petrino, he did have words of praise for Athletic Director Jeff Long.

“I’ve never been more proud of our Athletic Director and Vice Chancellor Jeff Long,” said Gearhart. “He told us, ‘I’m not a person who wins at all costs, I want to do it the right way.’ I think he proved that this week.”

Long tells Fox 16 that all options are still on the table when it comes to finding a new coach. He also says he has talked with the coaching staff and the team, and everyone is focused on what needs to be done.

“They have been outstanding, they’ve been resilient,” said Long. “I’ve met with each one of the assistant coaches, they love being at the University of Arkansas. They really have high expectations for this group of student-athletes on our team. You know we have a very mature team. They have handled this well under difficult circumstances, so I’m very proud of them.”

guard, you would really be pissed if you knew about the over one thousand phones, and I-phones that your state money pays for at UAMS. I can't understand why we pay for the doctor's phones up there when St. Vincents and Baptist don't pay for their doc's phones. It would make for a great investigation by the Arkansas Times.
