Arkansas National Guard activated for emergency services

ROBINSON MANUEVER TRAINING CENTER, Ark. - The Arkansas National Guard received calls for winter weather support this morning after heavy amounts of ice and snow blanketed the state last night. These initial missions for the Guard include the provision of four-wheel-drive ambulance support to Pulaski and Faulkner Counties.

The missions call for a total of seven personnel with seven military ambulances to assist the first responders based at the Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) in Conway, Little Rock and Jacksonville.

Duration of the mission is anticipated to be a minimum of 24 hours.
