LITTLE ROCK,AR - Arkansas Rice Farmers are asking the FDA to take a closer look at the grains imported from Vietnam.
In a letter, the farmers said they are concerned about finding chemical residue on the rice.
The farmers say Japan has already implemented stricter standards for Vietnamese rice and the U.S. should follow suit.
The Arkansas Rice Producers' group is affiliated with the USA group, composed entirely of rice farmers.
Arkansas produces almost 50% of rice in the United States.
