Arkansas State Police release narrative report on Petrino accident

The state trooper assigned to protect Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino said he took a call from an unidentified woman to come get the injured coach, then fielded a call from the coach's wife as they were pulling into the hospital, according to a memo released Monday.

I hope the trooper doesn't have any problems with this. It sounds like he did the best he could given being put in the middle of an potentially career-ending situation. He included a description of the female rider in his report and created the situation for the investigating troopers to follow up more thoroughly. He also notified his supervisor of each step according to the report. I would hope the State Police hierarchy keep this guy around.

Why was the officer using a State car when not on duty? Isn't that mis-use of State property and gas? Maybe next time while he's driving the State car, he can pick me up a gallon of milk.
