Perhaps if El Beebe did not put all of the illegal Mexicans on it, the circumstances might be different

There have been many reports on the Arkansas Medicaid issue but there has not been a report on where the money comes from. From and expert on Medicaid and Medicare issues let me tell you it is much better for the state to cover those in need than not, and the reason being is due to the fact that they are already being paid for is some way form or fashion whether it be through stronger collection efforts on others or raising pricing on the underinsured. Now that all being said, the state Medicaid program along with every other state program is a federally matched by a program called FMAP. The states along with many news agencies do not mention this program due to them either not understanding or just not following through on the assignment or responsibly to the public. What the FMAP does is match "in Arkansas case" 70 cents on every dollar spent on Medicaid recipients. In other words the 4.4 billion (actual) spent in the state is matched 2:1 or 1.4 billion from Arkansas Government and 3.0 billion from the Feds. Hope this helps bring some of information to light. It is a very difficult situation no matter how you look at it................
