Arkansas cooling down; freeze possible in NW Ark.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Days after setting a high temperature record, cool air is moving across Arkansas and lows are forecast to reach the 20s and 30s.

The National Weather Service says lows Thursday morning will reach the 20s in parts of northwest and the 30s in the rest of the state.

Rain moved across the state Tuesday morning with cool air following behind it. Lows Tuesday night are to be in the 30s and 40s.

Temperatures are forecast to fall further Wednesday night.

A warming trend is forecast to take hold on Friday, with high temperatures forecast to reach near 70 degrees over the weekend.

Little Rock set a high temperature record over the weekend, with a high of 88 on Sunday.
