jw; never looked at it that way. Me, I'm a white male, no free fish for me regardless of the situation.

AY - you're missing the big picture. Once they're hooked on free govt money, they'll have to keep voting for the administration that will keep giving them free govt money. If you don't teach them how to fish - or just plain force them to fish - they have to keep coming back for the fish.

wp; good idea, but wouldn't work. Too many would play a card. Some have organizations that would come to their defense. And then there are the unions. As crooked as politicians. Still, a good idea though. I try to look at the bright side as far as unemployment goes though; the more laid off, the more that lose their jobs, the more votes against Obama's "change".

Until you actually do the hiring for a company, you might not see the whole picture and really understand why unemployment is the way it is...Too many people out there just don't want to WORK..They may go to work but that doesn't mean they're doing their job, so they end up getting fired or "laid off". The employer may say "we have to let you go b/c business is slow or we're "downsizing"... but the best workers stay no matter the economy in a lot of cases, unless a business just closes it's doors.. and many are able to undeservedly draw unemployment b/c the employer doesn't want to fight the unemployment claim b/c it's not worth the time and hassle. If employers fought the claim and told the unemployment office how bad of a worker they were, how many days they missed, how many times they were "sick" and how many times they were late, and their bad attitudes, unemployment claims might not be so high..I'm not saying the economy is good or anything but I'm just saying that not EVERYONE on unemployment is unemployed at NO fault of their own.

Why is it that unemployment only goes up one-tenth everytime they report it? Could it be that its an inaccurate number? Hmmmmmmm. Perhaps. The govt. has no idea of the true number.
