JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — A woman has been killed in a collision between a pickup truck and a freight train in Jonesboro.

Police tell KAIT-TV a Burlington Northern Santa Fe trail was traveling east about 11 a.m. Saturday when it encountered a truck trying to cross the tracks at Henson Road.

Officers say as 54-year-old Roberta Bratcher attempted to clear the railroad tracks before the train reached the intersection, the train hit her vehicle on the driver's side.

A coroner pronounced her dead at the scene.

According to the police report, the train was sounding it's horn and the crossing signal was flashing when the accident happened.

I think she was probably just really preoccupied with something, intent on getting somewhere and oblivious to the surroundings. RIP and I too feel sorry for the trainmen.
