Early Monday morning, the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a burglar alarm at a church located on Toltec Mounds.

When Deputy David Houser arrived on-scene, he saw a black PT Cruiser sitting by the church with its lights off. As he approached the vehicle, the driver attempted to run him over. Deputy Houser fired at the vehicle and believed he struck the windshield.

He then initiated a pursuit of the suspect vehicle at which time he lost contact in the area of Cornel Manner. Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and additional Lonoke County Deputies responded to the area to assist in the search. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were also alerted concerning the search.

Anyone having information concerning a black PT Cruiser with recent damage to the windshield or front section of the vehicle are asked to contact the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office. Entry was not gained to the church.
