LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Bats are flying around the building at Bale Elementary and workers are trying to fan them out.
Leaders cancelled school Friday once they spotted the problem to prevent any danger to staff and students.
Lisa Whetzell carried her son to school only to bring him back home.
"Before I even pulled into the parking lot, the security guard came out and told me that there wasn't any school today because of an emergency," said Whetzell.
A notice on the schools door says crews will work throughout the weekend to fix the problem. But whetzel is worried about one thing.
"Disease. That's my main concern," said Whetzel.
