ARKANA, Ark. (AP) — Authorities are investigating vandalism at a Baxter County church where racist graffiti was spray-painted on the walls and fire extinguishers were sprayed into the heating and cooling vents.
The damage was discovered Wednesday morning at Arkana Baptist Church in Arkana.
According to the Baxter Bulletin, vandals spray-painted graffiti on the walls, including the phrase "White power join the KKK today." Authorities say the vandals also attempted anti-religious graffiti, though the word "devil" was misspelled.
Pastor Manuel Macks says most of the church is covered by a fine white powder because the fire extinguishers were discharged in the building's ducts.
The Baxter County Sheriff's Office says it's collecting evidence to investigate the incident.
