The very hot weather and no fireworks did indeed hurt the attendance buut what Karoline failed to mention in her video was that she was there approximately TWO hours BEFORE the gate even opened that day. No wonder there was basically no one there....duhhhh. At least she was kind enough to mention the word "thousands" in reporting the crowd that arrived for the music. Not to mention the bull riding Tuesday night was a huge success as was the Championship Wrestling on Wednesday night. I can assure you, no one was more dissapointed than Mr. Ballew when he was informed that there would be no fireworks show and that dissapointment does not come because of lower attendance. He not only loves and thourghly enjoys a good fireworks show, even more so, he loves the fact that not only the kids love it, so do their parents and bringing happiness and joy to others is his goal in doing what he does. There is NO financial profit to him all in connection with the events he sponsers. Thew same is true of "Toy Troopers" which is when he collects toys the 2nd weeekend every December in the Bryant Wal-Mart parking lot. Those toys are then given to a Church Council that distributes them to children that otherwise might not receive anything at Christmas time. To Benton & ALL of Saline County, please continue to support Benton Freedom Fest and Mr. James Ballew. If Freedom Fest continues each year and he remains a large part of it, I assure you, "You Ain't Seen Nuttin' Yet !
