Benton Police search for suspects responsible for high school vandalism

Officials from the Benton Police Department are searching for those responsible for a recent act of vandalism at the Benton High School, according to a release.
BENTON, AR – Officials from the Benton Police Department are searching for those responsible for a recent act of vandalism at the Benton High School, according to a release.

Police say the suspect caused approximately $20,000 worth of damage to the high school by shooting out five large windows at the campus around 3:30 am on July 28.

The suspect drove white Toyota Camry with a sunroof and dark window tinting. Video surveillance shows the vehicle driving through the high school parking lot twice before leaving the area. Police believe the suspect used a BB or pellet gun to shoot out the windows.

“The Benton School District is committed to working with the Benton Police Department to determine the person or persons responsible for the recent vandalism done to the high school.” Benton School District Superintendent Jeff Collum said.

“It is our mission to maintain our facilities to provide a quality learning environment that the students in our district deserve.”
