BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Authorities say a 12-year-old middle school student has been arrested for postings on Twitter that made derogatory comments about some Bentonville High School students.

Authorities say that postings from two Twitter accounts — one called Freezebook and one called Burnbook10 — included racist, homophobic and other comments about students. According to the Benton County Daily Record, one tweet encouraged a student to commit suicide; another taunted a student for allegedly having an eating disorder.

Police Chief Jon Simpson says the 12-year-old was arrested Thursday and taken to the Benton County Juvenile Detention Center. The boy, who wasn't identified because he's a minor, was arrested on suspicion of making harassing communications.

Both accounts have since been deleted.

arrest is o.k. As long as they do it across the board suicide among teens is too high for any bullying

Arresting a 12 y/o for tweeting.....this has got to be some kind of joke. If anyone follows Jenny Johnson, she tells Kim Kardashian to commit suicide almost daily.

This sounds like a kid who thought he could get away with attempted murder ( he DID encourage another kid to commit suicide ).Even though he had no control over who followed him on Twitter, his followers could control whether they chose to unfollow him or not.Still,he shouldn't be allowed to post just anything he wants on a public site which is designed to be seen by others. He should have been arrested just for encouraging the other kid to commit suicide alone. That is terroristic threatening in itself.

Where are the little bully's parents? Isn't this DHS territory? They are out there taking everyone's kids for anything. Gtanted some should be but they make it hard as hell for a grandparent to get them. Jail makes them more money. Ever bonded anyone? Fees, fees fees. Then the bondsman. Then the courts add their fees. The parents are up for this one. The kid's right's? Heck we don't have any.

When your born in this country you have rights. There automatic. Be it 1 day or 100 plus. People that are willing to compromise our rights for any reason are a threat to our freedom. What in my book I'm tired of are people willing to compromise my rights. There are plenty of Countries out there made just for you.

I agree that adults should have the right to say or post whatever they want on any site they want, but we are talking about a 12 year old. Sure, if someone made fun of me for being gay, having a eating disorder or whatever- I am old and mature enough to take it. A teenager on the other hand might not be able to take the bullying. Better safe than sorry in my book- Im tired of seeing stories of kids committing suicide over bullying.

Sounds kind of crazy to me. If you don't like what I do on any Face Book, tweet, or what ever remember I might not have ask you to look at it. I talk about what I want when I want. Then how many times have you said look at that drunk or he is just a dope head. For you wondering about this why don't you go turn yourself in. Their stupid enough to take you in Benton county. If this sticks a lot of us on here had better look out. We do it in our comments near daily. What you going to do when they come for you. Did I here welcome to Communist America?

Just another step towards a Communists state. Thats what people do, Talk about other people. Look at football players cussing and taunting other players. Thats ok? I just read an article about a school that couldn't have a Cougar as the school mascot because middle age women "might" get upset. Crazy world.
