Bicyclist dies in crash

LONOKE COUNTY, AR – Authorities are investigating a fatal accident involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. The victim is identified only as a 13 year old, male.

The Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office tells us the crash was reported just after 7:00pm Saturday evening. Investigators say the teen came from the direction of Joiner Loop onto Mt. Tabor Road. It was there the 13 year old collided with a vehicle on Mt. Tabor Road.

Sheriff’s deputies and Tri-Community Fire Department Rescue responded to the accident but were unable to save the youth. He was pronounced dead at the scene just before 8:00pm.

With so many children in the neighborhood there needs to be a bike trail/side walk to keep the kids off the roads. My heart breaks for the family. I know the neighbors are doing all they can to help.

HE HAD HIS WHOLE LIFE BEFORE HIM AND THESE TWO STOLE IT.I HOPE THEY PAY FOR WHAT THEY DID.

Being the father of a 13 y/o son (who spends as much time as possible on his bike), this truely breaks my heart. Countless prayers for the family during this time of great loss.
