LITTLE ROCK, AR - Sunday night, the Big Dam Bridge Full Moon Walk brought out hundreds of people who want to lead healthier lives. In its second year, the Full Moon Walk promoted physical fitness and allowed everyone to enjoy great views.
Right now, the moon is technically only 92-percent full, but that didn't stop Sunday's Big Dam Bridge full moon walkers.
"My wife thought it was very important for us to be here tonight," says Marc Ardagna. "Well, we come here a lot and we never knew about this."
"It's fun and like it's the colors on the bridge, and it's like nice exercise," Shavonda Yates.
Shavonda Yates thinks it's important for the Big Dam Bridge Foundation and the Arkansas Minority Health Commission to join forces every year like this to promote healthy eating, exercise and a sense of community.
"A lot of people have health problems, like I take, in school I do meds and like it's a whole lot of health problems going on so yeah, I think it's good to walk," says Yates.
Participants got yellow T-shirts upon completing the walk to one end of the bridge and back. They also enjoyed the mild weather.
"It's perfect. But, in Arkansas, that'll probably change real quick, won't it?" asked Ardagna.
Organizers hoped more than one-thousand people would show up Sunday night.
