As an educator in this state for the past 30 years, I find the comments in this blog absolutely reprehensible. Bill Clinton did SO much to improve the educational experience for all children, that I can only believe the writers must have their heads in the sand. He implemented the first teacher testing and fired many teachers who were found to be incompetent. He pushed for meaningful in-services so teachers would not fall behind in their teaching skills or proficiency in their specialty areas. He increased the level of spending so that our schools could be repaired and updated. Are you aware there were schools here that didn't even have indoor restrooms for the students to use? Ramps were built for handicapped access and funding for all special Ed increased. Gifted students (hopefully our leaders of tomorrow) were provided special services and summer programs that taught about this state and helped them establish networks. I could go on and on. Please don't overlook the amazing fact that our country was IN THE BLACK financially and we, as middle class Americans, had a wonderful feeling of prosperity. I say Kudos to Bill a hundred times over! I MISS BILL!

Election year rhetoric. Try checking out what they do for learning disabled kids.NOTHING. They get alot of tax money for them but they use it to get their pictures in the paper. Or putting luncheons together for teachers and staff. Like I said election year rhetoric. He could promote lieing, stealing and sex education? He should go back to the rock he crawled out from. He never did anything all those years in Ar. We are still one of the poorest states there is.

Simple little test to ask your children to see what they are learning in school, and you may be surprised at the answers. Ask what countries border the United States. Ask who is VICE president of the United States. Ask how many stars are on our flag. last, ask if you took a bus to school for 5 days and it was 10 miles each way and one day you missed the bus, how far would you have to walk to get home. And for arkyny: NO we do not need this lier back in office, once impeached he needs to just go away, but like all liberal democrats they never do! Just keeps on spewing lies and propaganda.

We don’t need kids learning more about the arts. We need kids learning more about the real history of America (the truth) and how America is great with all its freedoms. We need kids to learn how to read, write and add. With all the trillions (tax money) spent over the years, they aren’t getting any smarter. If you don’t believe me just look at all the colleges that have developmental classes.
