LITTLE ROCK, AR – A 17-year-old student at Bismarck High School brought a handgun to school Wednesday, according to the Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Office.

The gun was found in the boy’s car on campus by school officials. The sheriff’s office stressed that nobody was in danger at the school and the incident was “a very irresponsible decision on the part of an otherwise outstanding young man.”

Juvenile authorities have ordered the teen to be held until an initial court appearance is made. That appearance could happen as early as Thursday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

so a 17 yr old doesn't have the right to protect himself but he can enlist in the military???? I remember when I was in HS, we could have guns in our vehicles, it was no big deal..
