Bobby Petrino fired at Arkansas after 4 seasons

Bobby Petrino believed he could win a national championship at Arkansas. He won't get the chance. Athletic director Jeff Long fired Petrino on Tuesday night and laid out a stunning laundry list of misdeeds against the man he hired away from the Atlanta Falcons four years ago.

I think Petrino and Dorrell are both deserving of the same criticism. This university treated both of them well.Him with a multi million dollar contract and her with a scholarship and a job after graduation.Petrino might have given her the job but she applied for and took it.They are both very selfish and ungrateful individuals.

I am glad he is gone. As a loyal Razorback fan, I ENJOYED his wins. But as an Arkansan, this was the best decision. Arkansas gets enuff bad rep w/out a foolish coach adding to the verbal jabs Arkansas sometimes takes. PLUS when the team comes back in the fall & new recruits come in, HOW was he to lecture, punish & suspend them for their personal mistakes?? They would have been thinking "Whatever old man, LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID!!" Which means he would have no respect from the incoming guys. You cannot lead like that. I am sorry he made such foolish decisions as a man but he had to go. It did appear to be a VERY hard decision for Jeff Long.

he's not entitled to unemplyment all his former boss has to do is write a statement to the unemployment office when they send them a notice and he dont get to collect, people are not entitled to unemployment its really up to that company to pay it or not

Obviously there were several things under the sheets (no pun intended) that had happened before the accident that came to light during this. With all that has come out, I feel Jeff Long made the right decision. I was for the firing of him until all of these other things hit the fan. If it had just been the ordeal about the accident, I think he would not have been fired. But, everything came out, and thats that. As a state, as a university and as Razorbacks, we will survive this and move on.

Good, I’m glad he got fired for his betrayal to his family and the University team and fans. I hope he doesn’t find a job for a while to teach him a lesson in respect for his family, and I hope she divorces him for this and doesn’t forgive him for all the embarrassment. They also need to fire his little tramp he was cheating with, and I hope her fiancé dumps her too, she embarrassed him to along with the entire Razorback fan, team and school. That is no way to represent a University, and not to mention what it does to the family.
