RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Authorities have found the body of a 24-year-old man who had been missing since a Monday accident in which his truck left Interstate 40 and plunged into Lake Dardanelle.

Investigators said the motorist's body was recovered at about noon on Wednesday after the two-day search.

The Courier reports that the man's truck crossed the median into westbound I-40 and then went off a bridge into a lake. The man was able to get out and swim to shore, where he walked to a hotel to call police.

It was unclear what led the man back into the water. Search teams found the truck on Tuesday, but no one was inside.
