Supposed to have been is the key phrase. How many walking and bicycle bridges do we need? So far we have four in the county. I think a new walkway to the county jail would be more productive.

Quize...are you alluding to the fact that the "Clinton" bridge to the ugly Clinton Mobile Home/Library was supposed to be paid for by public funds from the Clinton funds?? YEP...

The city donated one million to help pay for that bridge refurbishing near the Clinton Mobile Home aka Library. Whats a few more million for more walking space which is under utilized now. Another feather in the greenies cap.

Prisons are now going to be for the violent offenders and sex offenders. No new tax money is going to be spent for building new prisons because more offenders are being diverted to other programs. Read Act 570 the law that is now in effect. The state's goal is to reduce recidivism and have the judges sent them back for new charges instead of the offender going to parole violation hearings.

I will only pray for both cities and our Great State. Please spend the money we have for the best for all.

and what will you have to say if we don't replace the 88-year-old bridge, and - God forbid - it collapses and someone you know dies in the collapse?

I just do not understand how "they" are always making plans to spend money when the whole country is supposed to be bankrupt. Spend the bridge money on all that prison space we need.....we get threatened with "having to let violent criminals out on the street" if we don't approve new taxes for prison space. To my knowledge we have held our ground on that inspite of the threats. GOD HELP US

I AM SURE WE NEED A NEW BRIDGE, ESPECIALLY A "SIGNATURE" ONE WHEN THE COUNTRY IS BANKRUPT. Maybe Little Rock will be a showplace when the rest of the country is a shambles. I guess we can expect to have to pay for this "signature" bridge....WHAT ABOUT ALL THAT PRISON SPACE WE NEED? ADD THE 10% NATIONAL SALES TAX...HMMMMM WOW
