BRYANT, AR – A routine traffic stop lead to the arrest of four burglary suspects in Bryant Friday morning.

According to Sgt. Todd Crowson of the Bryant Police Department, around 11:04am on February 10, a Bryant Officer stopped a white Oldsmobile traveling west bound on Hwy 5. The vehicle, occupied by four men, pulled off of Hwy 5 and on to Leslie Road.

As the car came to a stop, two of the men jumped from the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The other two remained with the car and were detained until the suspects who fled were located around 11:44 am. One suspect was found next to the Antique Shop on 1-30 around 11:44, while the last suspect was found behind the Kings Crossing Subdivision at noon.

Police say that while searching the car, they found several stolen items, including two flat screen TVs, an HP flat screen monitor, a Playstation 3, and several pairs of shoes taken from a residence at Westwood Apartments, located off Stagecoach Road in Little Rock.

The suspects, later identified as 19-year-old James Flenov, 21-year old Darren Johnson, 19-year-old Dartell Williams and 19-year-old Elijah Blackwell of Little Rock were turned over to the Little Rock Police Department, where they were charged with Residential Burglary and Theft of Property.

So this goes out to all the folks complaining about being "harassed" by traffic stops in Bryant. Without making this traffic stop these guys would have never been caught. When a traffic stop is made officers are not just looking to write tickets they are looking for this kind of stuff. So you may see them as harassing but you don't see the underlying reasons. Nice work to the officers at the Bryant Police Department for the"catch" and thank you for the job that you do.
