LITTLE ROCK, AR – Central Arkansas Water says some customers may experience discolored tap water due to higher than average demand.

CAW says the extra demand means water is moving faster through the pipes, which causes the scouring of manganese on the pipe lining. The discolored water should subside as the tap runs and it is safe for consumption.

CAW is also asking customers not to water their lawns between 5:30am and 7:30pm.
