Campus carry conceal gun bill fails in committee

A bill to allow guns on college campuses fails in a House committee but the bill sponsor says there is still a chance for him to bring the bill back. It would allow guns on public universities like UALR in Little Rock.

I think that if students/faculty have a concealed carry permit then they should be able to carry their guns on campus. The last time I checked criminals do not follow laws, so if someone wanted to bring a gun onto campus to do harm they would not care if handguns were not allowed. I think colleges would be a lot safer if those with permits carried their weapons on campus. That way if an incident did occur, someone with a permit would be able to respond and prevent further casualties and damage from occurring.
