Yes, it was an intelligent idea. But Its Just Me is right; the oil companies have Congress on a leash.

I think a lot of that so-called stimulus money should have been spent building a natural gas distribution system (infrastructure) so we can put more NG-powered cars and trucks on the road. THAT would have created jobs, helped clean exhaust fumes, lowered pump prices (NG runs about $1.50/gal equivalent) and helped us import less oil through reduced demand. but NOPE - didn't build that.

We all love the mild winters, but it has caused an over stock of natural gas. Even the people who own mineral rights are feeling the change in prices and amount of gas being pumped. Never a happy medium for the working class.
