Child struck by lightning, thousands without power

The Drew County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a child was struck by lightning Tuesday night during the storm.

Well for one I was not outside playing in the yard! & two the good lord was watching over me because it could have been a more serious problem! I just wanted to clear that up for all(:

Where in te story did it say anything about a child outside playing, the people on these post come up with more stories that the reporter. SMH

Friends from Monticello have informed me that the child struck by lightning is a 17 year old girl. She was somehow shocked when lightning struck the house she was in. They said she is doing just fine. EMTs checked her at the scene and she was not required to go to the hospital. God is good.

I am at a loss for words for Matt, at least ones I can post. My question is, why was the child outside playing in the storm if that is the case. Not much to go on. They did at least add in the story that a transformer was hit so we all understood that the outage wasn't caused by the child being hit by lightning.
