LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Little Rock police are searching for a man who shot a convenience store clerk during an attempted robbery.

Police say the shooting happened shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday at an E-Z Mart convenience store near Green Mountain Drive in west Little Rock. Authorities say a man entered the store and pretended to be a customer before shooting the clerk in the face.

Authorities say the man then shot the clerk in the back as the clerk tried to run out of the store. Police say the man fled after he was unable to open the cash register.

The clerk was lying on the ground outside the store when authorities arrived.

Police say the clerk was taken to a hospital and that his injuries aren't life-threatening.

Arkyank & 1gmama, yes section 8 is the term for unfit military discharge but it's also what the gummit calls free rent. Section 8 housing..

1gmama; I've been wondering the same thing. Used to be someone that was mentally unfit to serve any longer in the military. Have no idea what it means now.

How many more convenient stores are going to get hit? How many more clerks are going to get shot or die? WTH!!!!!!! they need to close the stores down at night and serve folks from a secure, bullet proof window. I do realize they can get hit during the day but most of these cases are during the evening hours from 9pm till early morning. Hiring more security guards with guns to stand watch over the store. This sh** needs to stop. Thank God this clerk got away and thank God their injuries were not life threatening.

The thugs are coming out of hiding, and the punks have stolen guns and trying to be big boyz, one problem, they are still stupid no thinking thuggers, trying to make the easy money, and again, not thinking of the outcome of their worthless life....these thugs which i use the word heavily, are nothing but cowards, losers, and theives, the pray on the innocent and thrive on govt handouts...this thugger is hiding or is disguised as a regular wearing pants decent person, but we all know, his thotless brain will do something again and get caught, and then the cops will pounce his a$$ in the slammer... hopefully his step father will show him the way to rightousness and mayb, just mayb share the same 8x8 , 2 bed, with a view cell....

bling bling, great question! And why is that section 8ers live in nicer houses than mine?? I've worked on Rodney Parham for 10 years now and have seen it go down hill b/c of the section 8ers..a section 8er tboned my car on the way home from work and of course, he did not have insurance and he tried to run. Section 8ers are now "tagging" the back of our office building and bums are now sleeping under our office stairs. And few store owners could care less about the safety of their clerks..These days I would refuse to work anywhere without the ability to carry a weapon..

This is outrageous it seems every week there's a story like this happening. If we are a democracy why can't the citizens vote on the type of punishment these kind of criminals receive? I guarantee there will be a huge drop in violent crimes.

Question folks? Do the hard working middle class that live in and around Green Mountain Dr. have any legal recourse due them for section 8 invasion of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? Where in the world has Jessie Jackson Jr. been hiding lately?

pat; I agree, stupid. What's the shirt say? Free who? I guess after he get's caught and goes to prison; someone will have a shirt with his picture on it saying Free Dumba**.
