CLARKSVILLE, AR – Three coaches for a team associated with Champion Baptist College are charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after a witness reported naked kids playing by the side of the road after midnight.

The incident happened on December 9th.

According to a report by the Arkansas State Police, a van carrying the kids was on the side of the road while a flat tire was being fixed. The coach told the ASP that the kids were playing a game of “freeze out.” The report says the kids were ages 11-17.

The van followed troopers back their troop headquarters. 34-year-old Michael Simmons, 23-year-old James Manthe, and 26-year-old Jeffrey Manthe were questioned further. The parents of the children, as well as the Dean of the college, agreed that the team should continue on to Rogers.

According to the report, the coaches did not know which of the kids had taken their clothes off.

I have known two of these coaches and their family since they were born. I assure you they are not guilty of anything except maybe being silly. I am sure they did not plan a flat tire late at night...and kids get silly when it is late and they are tired and changing a flat tire in the dark and cold. These young men are very trustworthy salt of the earth young men who I would trust with my own children anytime.

Isn't it possible that the coaches were so invovled in changing the flat on that van that they weren't paying attention to waht was going on? I read in another report that it was just boys goofing off.

Is this journalism? What is meant by "continue on to Rogers"? Does the journalist assume all readers know what that means? I'm in DC and have no idea what that means. And this story is even stranger. What's the game of "freezing out"? C'mon...journalism...if this story can't be told, how are your readers choosing their political leaders.

well I doubt there was any malicious intent as far as the coaches are concerned but contributing to the delinquency rather than some sex charge seems fair minded and logical. Kids do crazy things sometimes.

this is the wrong charge!how about endangering the welfare of a minor. how about sexual assault. would it have been a crime if he took pictures of the naked kids. but not if he has a mental picture of the naked kids. so thats the loophole? if you can just remember what they look like nude your not pedophile, if your memory is bad and you get a pic then you are a pedophile oh ok CLAMPETTS
