BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) — The son of an Arkansas congressman remains in the Benton County jail after he was arrested for allegedly violating his parole.
A jailer said Wednesday James Womack was being held without bail, but jail records didn't specify how he violated parole. Womack is the son of Rep. Steve Womack.
KHOG-TV reports that James Womack previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance when he was arrested in an incident involving six grams of methamphetamine. Prosecutors recommended that he attend a prison boot camp program instead of serving a 10-year sentence.
A spokesman for Steve Womack in Washington didn't immediately return a call or email seeking comment.
The jailer said court records didn't indicate whether James Womack had retained an attorney
