Conway Nominated for Chance to Win Dog Park

Your votes needed online for city to win. Two ways to vote through May 31st.
CONWAY, AR (News Release) - Dog owners in Conway are hoping to unleash the excitement for the city’s first dog park, but first they need the community’s help to make it happen.

A newly-formed group called Friends of Conway Dog Park nominated the city for PetSafe's 2013 Bark for Your Park contest. Conway is competing against some 400 other cities for a chance at a $100,000 grand prize and four additional $25,000 prizes to help fund the new park.

Online voting is underway now and ends on May 31. Supporters can vote up to twice a day – once at this website (click here, login required) and again on Facebook (click here, Facebook account required to login and vote).

“We encourage dog lovers in Conway and surrounding areas to vote,” said Kay Andrew, a Friends of Conway Dog Park committee member. “This park would be a wonderful addition to our city – a great place for dogs and their owners to exercise and socialize.”

Fifteen finalists will be announced in early June. Cities that advance will submit a video explaining why their city needs a dog park. Winners will be announced on July 31.

PetSafe funding would be used for fencing, benches, dog waste stations, lighting and water access at the new park.
