CONWAY, AR - Conway Police responded to a call around 3:40 Friday morning on Keathley Drive from a woman who reported she had been raped.

The woman told police she woke up in her bed to a man straddling and choking her. The victim told police the man made her undress then forced her into the bathroom where he sexually assaulted her.

She was eventually able to escape through an open bathroom window, the same window police believe the man used to get into the home.

The victim told police as she ran to a neighbor’s house for help. She said that when she saw her attacker leave through the front door, she then returned to the house to get her child.

Officers checked the area but did not find a suspect but detectives are following up on leads at this time.

The victim received medical attention for some injuries she suffered during the attack. The child was not harmed.

Jonathan Thacker is the alleged rapist! My daughter, the person who is the VICTIM here, told me that some very incriminating evidence, not DNA, but other, was left at the scene of the crime. She told me his name several hours after the crime occurred. This is NOT a witch hunt or any misinformation from thecabin or any other news source. HE is the perpetrator! About time the police released this info!

Sure, let's blame the rape victim and turn it into how she's a bad mom because she didn't do what YOU would have done. Tell me, when was the last time YOU went through such a traumatic experience and how did YOU keep a straight head and do things perfectly. Nevermind that someone broke into her home and violated her in the middle of the night. No, no, the focus should be on HER wrong doings. What a shame.

I could not agree anymore with you. People overlooking the important facts of this story. A woman hurt in fear of her life. When your in a life and death struggle there is no telling what you will do to survive. The will to live is strong. Then staying to fight could end with two deaths. You and your child. It's hard to say what I would do in such a case. I'm sure animal instinct would take over.

To a few here that insist that they would be murdered rather than run from the house with their child inside, good for you. Hooray. Yea, go die and then leave your child completely alone with a killer who knows that he does not have to leave anytime soon. Why? Because no one has called the police on him and alerted the neighbors. Now that's really going to do your child good, isn't it? People need to grow a brain. What is most alarming, aside from the rape of my daughter and her home invasion, is that there are a few people here MORE FOCUSED on her actions, than that of the rapist/possible murderer. How freaking sad!

I know it is hard to tell what we would do in situations such as this, but I think he would have had to kill me before I left my child in the house with him.

You don't know what you would have done if you were being raped by a perfect stranger, NOT knowing if you would be murdered afterward. You are calling this monster a rapist, you don't know what he is capable of. The only reason my daughter was only raped and NOT murdered, is because she dove out of her bathroom window. If not, she would be dead, and then my grand child would HAVE BEEN left alone for sure...completely defenseless and at this monster's mercy. My daughter did the right thing getting out of her house and yelling, banging on doors and screaming to get the neighbors to help her!! People need to quit stating what they would do in a horrible situation that they have never been in. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE DONE! Let someone force you into oral and anal sex for about 15 minutes, all the while your gut feeling telling you that this person is going to KILL you, let's see if you dont dive out of window!

The judicial system needs to get tough om crime, prisons are overflowing.Too many fat cat lawyers out to make a dime and the H--l with the victim. The court system our Gov.and everything else is swimming in a cesspool of corruption. The problem is we the people have been silent so long no one is afraid of us anymore. If anyone has any ideas as to how to go about trying to get tougher laws let's talk.
